Vaping At the UEFA EUROs 2024: Things to Know in Advance

image

The UEFA EURO 2024 football tournament kicks off in Munich on 14th June, and this year, the competition heads to Germany to take place in ten iconic stadiums across the nation.

From the Allianz Arena, home to FC Bayern Munich, to the stomping ground of the German national football team themselves, the Olympiastadion in Berlin; a month-long football marathon is on the cards for all to enjoy.

The first day of matches will see Germany vs Scotland in Munich on 14 June, and you can see Serbia vs England in Gelsenkirchen on 16th, Denmark vs England in Frankfurt on 20th, and England vs Slovenia in Cologne on 25th June.

If you’re a vaper travelling to Germany for the UEFA EURO, there are a few vape-related things you’ll need to know before your arrival. Keep reading to stay clued-up on the vaping rules for all EURO 2024 matches.

Can I Vape at the 2024 EUROs?

Every venue at the 2024 EURO competition operates on a strict non-smoking basis. This means that vaping devices are not permitted to enter the grounds, and vaping/smoking is not allowed under any circumstances.

This is mainly because of the dense concentration of people within each stadium. In such situations, vaping is traditionally not allowed.

Although these rules apply generally to the open blocks of each stadium, there are some rules each EURO venue has around where you can vape. Though, it’s worth noting that these smoke-free rules may supersede the individual rules of each stadium.

Please note that these guidelines may change. You should always check out the rules of each stadium via its website before travelling.

Can I Vape at the Olympiastadion in Berlin?

The smoking and vaping rules at the Olympiastadion are hard to come by. There is no official word on where one can smoke or vape, so it would be safe to assume that the only places you can vape are outside of the stadium grounds.

There is no outdoor smoking ban in place at this stadium. So, provided you are off the grounds, vaping should be permitted.

Can I Vape at Cologne Stadium?

Like most of the German football stadiums on this list, Cologne Stadium is another within which smoking is not permitted.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in the stands for both standing and seated ticket holders. This includes vaping.

Can I Vape at BVB Stadion Dortmund?

At the BVB Stadion in Dortmund, smoking and vaping are prohibited in sectors 64 and 65, in addition to the family sector located in the northwest corner of the stadium.

While there are no additional restrictions stated on the stadium’s website, it’s safe to assume that vaping isn’t allowed in the same places as other stadiums.

Can I Vape at Düsseldorf Arena?

Düsseldorf Arena’s website doesn’t explicitly provide guidance on whether smoking or vaping is allowed. Instead, it claims that these rules are left up to the organiser. In the case of the EUROs, it’d be safe to assume that vaping or smoking isn’t allowed at this venue.

Can I Vape at Frankfurt Arena?

Similarly to Düsseldorf Arena, Frankfurt Arena doesn’t explicitly state its rules against smoking on its website. This makes it hard to claim whether it’ll be permitted, but we suggest that you err on the side of caution.

Can I Vape at Arena AufSchalke?

Under Section 7 of Arena AufSchalke’s contractual penalties, it is claimed that visitors who smoke in the non-smoking areas of the arena will be subject to a €25 fine, payable to the event organiser. It’s worth avoiding vaping in these areas just in case.

Can I Vape at Volksparkstadion?

Despite the non-smoking rules outlined by the EUROs, some reviews of the Volksparkstadion claim that smoking is allowed in and outside of the stadium. Official stances on this from the venue are hard to come by, but again, we expect that these rules will be tightened up as the EUROs comes closer.

Can I Vape at Leipzig Stadium?

Due to feedback received from past visitors, in addition to new smoking regulations, there is no smoking allowed on the Leipzig Stadium grounds. However, the stadium’s website does state that there are smoking areas on the lower tier of the stands. These areas are marked with a red line.

Can I Vape at Munich Football Arena?

In the Munich Football Arena, also known as the Allianz Arena, smoking is strictly banned between the block entrances and the seats. This ban covers both smoking and vaping devices.

Smoking is permitted, however, in designated rooms and areas on levels 4 and 5 so you should be able to vape there.

Can I Vape at Stuttgart Arena?

In a similar fashion to the BVB Stadion, smoking is not allowed in areas specifically highlighted as smoke-free blocks in the Stuttgart Arena. One could assume that smoking is permitted in other places around the stadium, but the smoke-free rules of the EUROS may overtake this.
