How do I inhale vapour the right way?
Understanding vaping is more than just choosing the right vape pen and e-liquid, it's also about understanding how to vape. This may seem simple, but as vape devices are unique creations, unlike any other nicotine delivery products, they require a unique approach. On this page, blu explores how to inhale the vapour.
How do I start the vapour production?
Many closed system devices, like the blu 2.0, don't use a button for activation. Instead, devices like the blu 2.0 have airflow detection systems that identify when a vape pen is being used. So, you simply to take a draw on the device and it activates, just as it would with a cigarette.
Other devices, such as the blu PRO™, use a button to start the vapour production. You press the button, this activates the heating element of the device, and the heated e-liquid produces vapour ready to be inhaled.
Before starting, it’s recommended that a few “primer puffs” are taken. These primer puffs, which can also be referred to as dry puffs, are much shorter than regular draws (it’s suggested that they last less than a second) and no vapour should be inhaled.
Primer puffs start the process which creates the vapour inside the vape pen. A few short primer puffs help improve the flavour and increase the vapour production on the first draw.
What technique should I use to Vape?
Once the primer puffs have been taken, purse your lips around the mouthpiece. There should be no gap between the lips and the mouthpiece; if there is the vapour won't be taken into the mouth correctly. Take a slow, steady draw from your vape pen for around 3-5 seconds, depending on preference.
Depending on the way they use their device, vapers belong most commonly to two categories:
Mouth holders
Inhalers
Mouth holders are vapers filling their mouth with vapour before taking it into the lungs. Some vapers prefer to exhale the vapour without inhaling into the lungs. Mouth holding vapers will get a better flavour sensation from a vape pen.
Inhalers; also known as ‘Direct to lung’ are vapers inhaling the vapour directly into the lungs rather than holding it in the mouth first. This tends to give the vaper a stronger throat hit.
When will I feel the effect?
After drawing from their device, vapers should wait for up to 30 seconds to feel the effect. The time it takes for the effects of a vape pen to be felt vary. First-time vapers may find the sensation unlike anything they have experienced before but this feeling will diminish over time.
Vapers usually take around 3-7 draws per session, with a suitable break taken between each draw. The number of draws taken per session can be adjusted in accordance with personal preferences. Similarly, it's recommended that vapers take suitable breaks between vaping sessions. Once a session has finished, the vape pen should be stored safely, and the battery charged or replaced if necessary.
