How to Refill Your Vape Pen

If you’re new to vaping, understanding how to properly refill your device can be tricky. There are lots of different types of devices, all with different means of refilling.

Depending on how often you vape, you may need to refill your device frequently so it is important to understand how this process works. In this guide we take you through the various types of vape pen and how to refill them all.

This includes the blu PRO and blu 2.0 pod systems, which are available to buy in our online shop.

HOW TO REFILL A VAPE

Many people, including newcomers to vaping, are confused on how to refill a vape pen. That’s why we’ve created the following two guides for adding blu refills in closed and open system units:

Closed System devices

Blu refill pods are available for our blu 2.0 vaping pens. So choosing to switch flavours and actually switching cartridges is straight-forward, with less (if any) chance of overfilling your vape.

And there’s no need to worry about spilling your favourite blu 2.0 vaping flavours during the changeover either, thanks to their closed system design. The pre-loaded vape cartridges mean there’s no need to access the device’s tank or clearomiser: meaning less effort or maintenance is required.

To refill your blu 2.0 vape, follow these steps:

• Simply remove the old blu 2.0 liquidpod from your device.
• Take out your new chosen pod and insert it into the top of your blu vape unit.
• Wait until it clicks into position.
• Encourage vapour creation by taking a few quick puffs on the device.

This process makes changing vape flavours easy: it will take only a few seconds in total. The blu 2.0’s new and improved magnetic lock holds it securely in place, offering enhanced reliability.

You can hold the device in your hand or place it in your pocket when not being used, safe in the knowledge that the blu refill pod will remain rooted in position.

OPEN SYSTEM DEVICES

Knowing how to refill a vape pen with a different system is key if you have or are considering choosing one of these devices.

E-liquid bottles are used to refill open system devices like the blu PRO. The term ‘open system’ refers to the fact that the clearomiser (where the e-liquid is stored) can be topped up manually.

The blu PRO has a clear window on the side of the device so you can see when your e-liquid has run out.

To refill your blu PRO, follow these steps:

• Unscrew the mouthpiece and battery from the clearomiser.
• Place the nozzle on the inside wall, avoiding centre tubing.
• Squeeze to fill the clearomiser. Gauge its level using the clear window and do not fill past the top of the window.
• Screw the mouthpiece and battery back onto the clearomiser.
• Take a few shorter drags to prime your device for the best vapour production.

It’s important to keep e-liquid out of the centre tubing, as this can lead to flooding. This is when e-liquid gets into the mouthpiece and can result in a bad taste when vaping. You can sometimes notice flooding when your vape pen starts making a gurgling sound and produces less vapour than normal.

When refilling your vape pen this way, it’s a good idea to do so over a paper towel so that any spilled e-liquid can be easily mopped up. Refilling your device with blu refills also provides a good opportunity to clean the mouthpiece.

This will make sure that you continue to get a smooth draw from your device. To do this, simply place a tissue inside the back of the unscrewed mouthpiece and blow through it.

To make sure that your device continues producing the best flavour and has a consistent vapour production, it’s recommended that the clearomiser itself is replaced every 10 refills.
